Opto 22 - company introduction
The OPTO Company 22 was founded in 1974 by several engineers who designed an improved solid state relay and they decided to produce it in a private company. More than 20 years later, the company OPTO 1922 is still privately owned and it is still supported and supervised by the engineers. The company OPTO 22 emphasis on individual responsibility, quick feedback of customers´ needs and fast development of top products.
Open standards
Products of the company OPTO 22 are destined to run on open communication standards such as Ethernet and Internet Protocol.
Open standards and commercially available technology reduce costs for the automation and they make data available for use where needed.
Over the years they participated in the development of industry standards.
• In 1978 they developed a red-black-yellow-white color coding scheme of input-output modules, which is a standard till now.
• In 1982 they introduce Optomux, which became the industry standard protocol soon.
• In 1995 they formed the OPC operational group (later the OPC Foundation) along with four other founding members to develop a standard for interaction between the supply products.
• In 1998 they introduced the first commercial input-output unit based on Ethernet.
Products
The company Opto 22 produces control units, input-output models, semiconductor relays and software products that connect electrical, mechanical and electronic devices with networks and computers. Products of Opto 22 are used in industrial automation, in remote monitoring and data collection.
Focus on quality
Input-output devices, controllers, software and semiconductor relays of the company Opto 22 are known for their quality and reliability. All products are manufactured in the headquarter of the company in Temecule, in California. Each piece of hardware is twice individually tested. Customers often refer to their dusty, 20-year-old "OPTA", which still work somewhere in the back of their factories. They can afford to provide our customers with each product free of charge support with such a level of the
quality. podporu. Therefore we provide a ten-year warranty for semiconductor relays and for most of the input-output modules.
Simplifying Automation
As Engineers in Opto 22 are aware what it means to give up the idea because it is too difficult to implement it. Design and integration of automation systems can be difficult. Your work is facilitated by open standards, clear documents, free integration software and video tutorials.
