Control units

It is possible to choose between units fitted to frames (series R) or an individual SNAP PAC programmable industrial units (series S).

All PAC kontrol units are also available in wireless version which ends with catalog numbers W. These models have the third network interface, in standards of 802.11a, b or g for connection into wireless local network.
They enable to communicate wirelessly with computers and with input and output modules. Communication may then proceed via the wireless network, the wired network or via both simultaneously.

Control Units of the R Series and S Series have a 24 month warranty from the date of manufacture.

SNAP PAC control units of the R series
They are fitted directly to the frame with SNAP input output modules and the control unit includes both control inputs and outputs and communications functions. It is basically a control unit and a communication module in one package. R Series is ideal for driving less complex distributed systems. If you need high-speed digital functions, choose the SNAP-PAC-R1. If you do not need high-speed digital functions, choose the SNAP-PAC-R2. Otherwise these two control units of the R series are identical. There are also versions with FM certificate available (SNAP-PAC-R1-FM and SNAP-PAC-R2-FM ).

SNAP PAC kontrol units of the S series
Separate industrial control units are suitable for systems of any size, including large or complex distributed systems. Control units of the S series are more powerful than units of the R series and it is possible to run on them simultaneously twice more PAC Control block diagrams. Control units of the S series with a serial communication:
• SNAP-PAC-S1 has three serial ports: the one RS-485 for communication with modules of inputs outputs, the one RS-232 for data set /PPP and the one RS-232 for other serial facilities. There is also a version with a certificate FM available, called  SNAP-PAC-S1-FM.
• SNAP-PAC-S2 has four flexible serial ports, all of them are programmable for the interface of RS-485 or RS-232.

The control unit of the S series provides other options in case of using with the program PAC Project Professional. It can be used for redundancy of control units or for redundancy of network connection. It also offers a migration of old serial units of inputs and outputs with a description Mistic.
