Central communication modules SNAP

It is possible to choose among four central communication modules of SNAP PAC – it depends if you need Ethernet or serial connections and if your application demands high-speed digital functions.

Communication modules Ethernet
SNAP-PAC-EB1 offers high-speed calculations (up till 20 kHz), quadrature calculations, measuring of frequency, periods and impulse. SNAP-PAC-EB2 does not contain high-speed digital features. There are versions with FM certificate available (SNAP-PAC-EB1-FM and SNAPPAC-EB2-FM ).

Both communication modules enable to connect analog, serial, digital and high capacity digital levels of output SNAP modules. They also contain PID regulation (up till 96 slings on a module) and a few communication protocols, including Modbus / TPC, SNMP ( Simple Network Management Protocol), SMTP (email) and FTP (File Transfer Protocol). We provide 30 month warranty from the date of manufacture for both communication modules.

Both communication modules have two network Ethernet interfaces. These two interfaces work like a network switch and it is possible to connect them not only in a standard Ethernet star configuration but also in a chain configuration. Chaining  configuration module significantly reduces the cost of network infrastructure. Both communication modules are available as wired and wireless modules with an additional network interface for 802.11a, b or g. These communication modules may communicate via wired network, wireless network or through both simultaneously.

Serial communication modules
SNAP-PAC-SB1 offers high-speed calculations ( up till 20 kHz ), quadrature calculations, digital time proportional output ( TPO ) and generating and measuring of impulses. SNAP-PAC-SB2 does not contain high-speed digital features. Both communication modules enable to connect analog, digital and high capacity digital levels of output SNAP modules. They also contain PID regulation ( up till 96 slings on a module ). These  communication modules communicate via RS-485 2-wire or 4-wire serial interface with transfer speeds from 300 bauds to 230.4kbauds. We provide 30 month warranty for both central communication modules.
