This software package is free. It can be downloaded from our website (www.opto22.com ) and it is also included on CD which you receive when buying any SNAP PAC control unit. PAC Project Basis includes everything what you need for most control and monitoring applications and programming of the operation, creation of HMI and configuration of inputs and outputs.

PAC control is an intuitive tool based on block diagrams for programming of the industrial automation, remote monitoring and application of data acquisition. When using PAC Control you can create and tune control programs, then record and run on SNAP PAC industrial control units. PAC control uses comprehensive set of commands in simple English which contains instructions for analog processing, digital sequential control, advanced math, conditional branching, processing of strings, serial control device, PID control, data fields and other complex functions. PAC control is based on block topics offering intuitive alternative to program in rails and offering optional advanced scripting language, similar to C or Pascal. PAC control also contains subroutines and graphical debugging software.

Database of input-output points, variable and other data elements in PAC Control is generated by the single database of variables also used by other parts of the PAC Project software. Since this database is automatically available in PAC Display HMI programming software, thus you significantly save time needed for development.
All these software applications may be run on workstations with the operational system Microsoft Windows 2000, XP and Vista Business.

The paid Professional version also includes OPC communication, integration with database, support for redundancy, link via Ethernet and redundancy of control units. PAC Control Professional is composed of following components:

PAC Control, to develop applications running on the SNAP PAC controlling units of the company Opto22.
PAC Display, to develop HMI applications for technicians and operators.
PAC Manager, for configuration of SNAP PAC control units, central communication modules and input-output modules from the company Opto 22.
OptoOPC Server, for communication OLE for Process Control ( OPC ) with OPC 2.0. clients.
OptoDataLink, for sharing SNAP PAC system data with databases supporting ODBC.

PAC Control Professional is extended, compared to the Basic version, by following functions:
• possibility of creating Redundant connections via Ethernet or a segmented network
• redundant operations on the level of control units using the SNAP PAC Controller of the series S
• additional features of the input-output units, such as pulse generation
• additional types of data in subroutines related to the input / output modules
• migration of Factory Floor for customers of the company Opto 22, including support for serial unit Mistic (necessary to use the SNAP PAC Controller of the S series) and conversion tool to convert OptoControl 4.1 into PAC Control.

Individual software parts of the PAC Project Professional can also be purchased separately. For example if you only need an OPC server but you do not need other features, you can use PAC Project Basic and buy only OptoOPCServer.
